While working on my novel, The Nature Book, I wondered what other novels were made either partially or entirely out of found language. This essay is the product of my research, having found over 100 fiction texts that one could call "citational fictions" or "literary supercuts."

While reading Martin Scorsese's New York Times op-ed wherein the filmmaker argues against Marvel movies in favor of auteur cinema, I realized that his arguments could be easily transposed to the writing world. So, I took his article and replaced all of his references to movies and the film industry with references to novels and the publishing industry.
