January 2018 – ToDo at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, SF. This three-hour event will showcase a number of previously unperformed sound poetry scores, which appeared in a chapbook released in 2016 by The Block Museum, Chicago. You can read these scores online here.
7/13, 7/14, 7/15/17 – Bill: The Musikill at The Southern Theater, Minneapolis. This musical collaboration between me and the choreography duo Fire Drill (Emily Gastineau and Billy Mullaney) premiered in July as part of Momentum: New Dance Works 2017. More information on this musical can be found in Large-Scale Projects here and here: Bill: The Musikill has been commissioned by the Cowles Center in part with funds provided by the Jerome Foundation, and is presented in partnership with The Southern Theater and The Walker Art Center. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.

4/3/17 – Reading with Kaveh Akbar at The Poetry Project, NYC as part of their Monday night reading series curated by Judah Rubin. My contribution to this event is supported in part by a Foundation for Contemporary Arts Emergency Grant.
4/1/17 – Reading with Jibade-Khalil Huffman at The Ace Hotel, Palm Springs as part of Desert X, an new biennial. This event is a collaboration between Desert X and the Los Angeles Review of Books. 3/4/17 – San Francisco Arts Education Project has installed my book ◯ (Ugly Duckling Presse, 2013) as an unbound coloring book in Rise Up!, an exhibition for school-age children that collects artist responses to “the state of our nation.” The show is up through May 6 at SF Arts Ed’s Minnesota Street Project gallery. 11/30/16 – Swissnex in San Francisco will host me for a performance of selections of my musical-in-progress Bill: The Musikill. Tickets are available on the Swissnex site.
11/5/16 – Swissnex in San Francisco has commissioned me to create a remix of a Dada work for their exhibition Re:Dada. The show opens on November 5 and closes on November 30. More information on the Swissnex site.
9/24/16 – Alter Space in San Francisco will install a show of collaborative multimedia work made by George Pfau and me in the past two years. On display will be videos, a vinyl sticker wall installation, paintings, drawings and the iOS app, BlabberLab. More information on the Alter Space site.
9/1/16 – Little Paper Planes in San Francisco will host me for a residency this month. Come out to Et al etc. on September 24 at 5 pm for the closing event of the residency when I will read for the first time from my novel-in-progress The City of Nature.
8/6/16 – Project Project in Omaha will host me for a sound poetry performance and screening. More information on the Omaha World Herald site.
5/15/16 – The Bemis Center for Contemporary Art in Omaha, Nebraska will host me this summer for a three-month residency. 3/15/16 – Art Practical has published a conversation between me and curator Zoë Taleporos to inaugurate their multi-month magazine issue “Moving Targets.” The issue focuses on intersections of writing and art in the Bay Area, taking its name from an interdisciplinary performance series run by Margaret Tedesco.
